![]() ![]() Loading screens are naturally a bit slower. During game play, the drive is used only with a few MB/s - if at all. Now, I do not get why I only get 30 MB/s read speed via the Core X with the eSSD, while it is possible to get at least 100 MB/s read speed with the Seagate and the eSSD being capable of 400 MB/s in another setup.Īpart from that, the impact of running games from the external drive from the Core X is no problem. However, plugging it into the Core X I get only around 30 MB/s read/write.įirst I thought it was because of the USB C to USB A cable, but plugging the same setup into an Anker 7-in-1 Hub (KESU eSSD with USB C to USB A into the Anker Hub into the Laptop) I get my 400 MB/s read speed. With the KESU eSSD directly plugged into the MBA I get around 400 MB/s read and 100 MB/s write, which was good. With the Seagate I got roughly 100 MB/s read and write speed both directly plugged to the MacBook Air and into the Core X. I was looking for a speed upgrade and also to use the Razer Core X Chroma as a hub. Like mentioned above, I bought me a new external SSD ( KESU portable SSD) and I already have an external USB 3.0 HDD ( Seagate Expansion). Some tests, like black uniformity and color accuracy, may vary between individual units.I had some time to test around a bit and notices some weird behaviour of the Razer Core X Chroma USB Ports. ![]() If you come across a different configuration option not listed above, or you have a similar MSI Raider GE67HX that doesn't correspond to our review, let us know, and we'll update it.
